I illustrated, designed, authored, and hand-scripted the Khmer writing for this book because I wanted a way to share my Cambodian heritage with my children.

I realized that they will only understand this part of themselves if I deliberately make these cultural connections.

I made this book to address these desires and challenges. But it's not just for me. I hope to inspire anyone else who may find it hard to celebrate who they are in the context of where they are.
